Though from different generations, both musicians share a love of the jazz tradition of swing and romanticism as well as an appetite for adventure and improvisation. This dynamic duo is celebrating the release of two brand new CD’s----Kindred Spirits presents classics by Monk, Mingus, and Ellington, along with a couple originals, whereas Heavenly Spirits catches them letting loose, with more room for development and improvisation. Their first disc, Few and Far Between, with bassist Wilber Morris, was on Downbeat magazine’s Best of 2002 list and since then, their musical rapport has become unmistakable. The warmth and sincerity of their music is often remarked upon, as is the power of their musical compatability.
